Coastal Wrestling Alliance (CWA) is more than just a wrestling promotion — it’s a home. Built on passion, grit, and a deep respect for the business, CWA was founded to create an experience where talent thrives, fans feel connected, and every show leaves a lasting impact.Based in Mobile, CWA brings high-energy, story-driven professional wrestling to the Gulf Coast, blending hard-hitting action with unforgettable moments that keep fans coming back generation after generation.
OUR STORY
CWA was founded in 2025 by husband-and-wife duo:
James Grimes – A former wrestler turned promoter who knows firsthand what it takes to succeed in the ring and behind the scenes. James built his vision on creating a company that puts wrestlers first while delivering top-tier entertainment to fans. He represents leadership, toughness, and a no-nonsense approach to building something real.
Kylea Grimes – The voice of CWA and co-owner whose journey into wrestling began in 2022. Starting by helping at All Pro Wrestling Pensacola, Kylea quickly fell in love with the business, learning from respected figures like the late Tiny Tiswell and the now owner of All Pro wrestling Pensacola-DDG. What began as helping behind the scenes turned into a driving force behind building CWA into something bigger. Together, they form the foundation of Coastal Wrestling Alliance — a powerhouse partnership built on vision, loyalty, and passion.

Our Owners
James Grimes
From the grind of the independent scene to building a home for the next generation… this is the story of a man who never left the fight.
Breaking into the wrestling business 20 years ago, James Grimes learned the ropes under the guidance of legendary names like Mountain Man Bailey and Chris Black. From day one, it was about respect, hard work, and earning every opportunity inside that ring.
Over the years, James shared the ring and locker room with some of the best talents across the Gulf Coast, carving out his own legacy while gaining the respect of peers and veterans alike.
His journey led him to becoming part of the All Pro Wrestling Pensacola family, working closely with the late Tiny Tiswell, and alongside names like DJ Pringle, DDG (now owner of APW), and Soulja. Those experiences helped shape not just the wrestler—but the leader.
In Alabama, James continued to build his reputation, working with the Alabama Wrestling Federation (AWF) and sharing the spotlight with talents such as 2-Quick, Brymstone, Koloff, and many more across the region.
But in 2022, everything changed.
After meeting his wife, Kylea Grimes, James began to see the business through a different lens. Together, they shared a vision—one built on passion, respect, and creating something that truly mattered.
That vision became reality.

Not every journey in professional wrestling starts in the ring… some start by simply showing up, learning, and respecting the business.
Since 2022, Kylea Grimes has been building her place in the wrestling world—soaking in every moment, every lesson, and every connection that makes this business what it is: a family.
Her journey began at All Pro Wrestling Pensacola, where she started by helping wherever she was needed. Under the guidance of the late Tiny Tiswell, alongside DDG and many others in the locker room, Kylea learned the ins and outs of the business—not just the show, but the heart behind it.

From long nights at shows to behind-the-scenes work, she listened, learned, and grew.
With the support of those who believed in her—and alongside her husband, James Grimes—that passion turned into something bigger.
